KUWAIT: Kuwait on Wednesday afternoon held a military funeral for duty martyr Sergeant Mohammad Saad Al-Hajri, a member of the general administration of correctional institutions at the interior ministry, who passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained while performing his duty.
Al-Hajri was among several personnel injured in a fire that broke out on Jan 11 at a building of the general administration of correctional institutions in Sulaibiya. Emergency response teams from the Kuwait Fire Force and medical authorities immediately responded to the incident, bringing the blaze under control and transferring the injured to hospitals for treatment. The same incident claimed the life of duty martyr Col Saud Nassar Al-Khamsan, who died earlier as a result of the injuries he sustained in the fire.
The funeral procession of Al-Hajri was led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah and Interior Ministry Undersecretary Maj Gen Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib, along with a number of senior security officials, officers, personnel and citizens. The burial took place at Sulaibikhat cemetery.
Sheikh Fahad expressed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased, conveying to them the condolences of
HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
He affirmed that the duty martyr was a model of dedication and sincerity, and one of the loyal men of the interior ministry who performed their duties with honor and integrity. Sheikh Fahad emphasized that the sacrifices of duty martyrs will always be held in the highest regard and appreciation by the political leadership and the Kuwaiti people, as they gave their lives for the security of the nation.
Maj Gen Al-Wuhaib said duty martyrs will remain symbols of sacrifice and devotion, and that their sacrifices will forever be etched in the national conscience, embodying the highest meanings of loyalty and belonging. He prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His mercy upon the deceased, grant him a place in His vast gardens, and provide patience and solace to his family and loved ones. – KUNA
