Hugo Ekitike last week followed the likes of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Florian Wirtz in being added to Slot’s options.
“It’s amazing,” Mac Allister said of the quality in the squad. “I think we’ve made great additions to the team, they are showing in every single training [session] how good they are.
“We are really happy with that. Now it’s about knowing the characteristics of the new players, getting used to playing together. I’m pretty sure that this will be a very good season for us.
“They brought new energy, good energy, especially Jeremie! They are always smiling, you can see how happy they are to be here and hopefully they can help us to win more titles.”
The Reds’ memorable tour of Asia will draw to a close on Wednesday when they face Yokohama F. Marinos in front of a sold-out crowd at Nissan Stadium.
That fixture comes after a spell of almost a week in Hong Kong during which around 25,000 fans attended an open training session and almost 50,000 were at the clash with AC Milan.
Mac Allister said: “I don’t think there are many teams that can come to Hong Kong or Japan and train with so many people [there].
“It’s nice to see how passionate the people are outside of Liverpool and it’s something we are really grateful [for]. I feel like when you see these kinds of things then you realise how big this club is.
“We are really happy to be here, happy to share some moments with them and hopefully on Wednesday can enjoy it as well.”
