KUWAIT: Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi inaugurated on Monday an additional surgical wing at Al-Amiri Hospital in a strategic step aimed at improving the patient experience, accelerating treatment pathways, and supporting the readiness of the health system within the Ministry’s plan to expand health facilities.
Minister Al-Awadhi stated in an exclusive interview with KUNA that the newly-opened wing, inaugurated in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering and Projects at the Ministry, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Naham, and the Director of Al-Amiri Hospital, Dr Areej Al-Kandari, comprises 30 beds, including 10 private rooms and 20 general beds, in addition to doctors’ offices, a pharmacy, clinics, medication storage and warehouses.

He added that this step comes in response to the need to increase bed capacity and provide a comprehensive treatment environment that meets modern healthcare standards, which will directly impact the quality of services provided, patient safety, and the efficiency of medical and nursing performance. He explained that this step contributes to alleviating pressure on existing wards and enhancing the hospital’s operational capacity to receive surgical cases of varying complexity.
Al-Awadhi noted that another surgical wing will be opened at Al-Amiri Hospital next week as part of the comprehensive plan to expand healthcare facilities, which the Ministry of Health developed and began implementing more than two years ago with short, medium and long-term strategies. — KUNA
