16th International Invention Exhibition features 213 inventors from various countries
KUWAIT: Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, representing His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, affirmed that Kuwait places great importance on innovation and scientific research, stemming from the political leadership’s firm belief in supporting creative minds and building a knowledge-based future. This was stated in a speech delivered by Al-Tabtabaei at the opening of the 16th International Invention Exhibition in the Middle East, organized by the Kuwait Scientific Club under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The exhibition, which runs until next Wednesday, features 213 inventors from various countries around the world. Al-Tabtabaei said the event has evolved into a global platform that embraces creative talent, enhances the innovation process and provides a stimulating environment for developing inventions capable of keeping pace with rapid global transformations.
He noted that Kuwait’s hosting of the exhibition reflects its steadfast approach to consolidating its position as a regional hub for innovation and a unifying platform for scientific initiatives. Al-Tabtabaei added that the steady increase in participation year after year underscores the exhibition’s advanced international standing and the global community’s confidence in Kuwait as a center for innovation.
He pointed out that the exhibition ranks first in the Middle East and second worldwide after the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, reflecting the quality of its organization and the significance of its scientific content. Al-Tabtabaei expressed his appreciation to the Kuwait Scientific Club and all supporting entities, particularly the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, for their efforts in nurturing inventors and fostering a culture of innovation, wishing all participants continued success in their pursuit of progress and excellence.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Scientific Club and Chairman of the Exhibition’s Higher Committee, Talal Al-Kharafi, said the continuation of the exhibition into its 16th edition, with participation from more than 30 Arab and international countries, reflects the strong support extended by the political leadership to inventors and innovators.
He also praised the role of strategic partners, especially the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, for its unwavering support of scientific research and exhibitions. Al-Kharafi further commended the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the League of Arab States for their active participation through the allocation of valuable awards aimed at supporting innovators and inventors.
Meanwhile, CEO of Corporate Development at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), Dr Bassam Al-Faili, said in a press statement that the foundation remains committed to encouraging and stimulating innovative solutions through science and technology. He described Kuwait’s hosting of the exhibition, with KFAS support, as a source of pride, expressing his satisfaction with the wide participation from sisterly and friendly nations and his anticipation of the final judging results. Similarly, Minister Plenipotentiary Rehab Ezz Al-Din, Director of the Economic Relations Department at the League of Arab States, said this is the second time the League’s General Secretariat has taken part in the exhibition, contributing a special award in addition to six other awards from specialized Arab organizations.
She revealed that a memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed between the League of Arab States and the Kuwait Scientific Club during this edition to enhance joint cooperation and unify efforts to support youth and innovators. Ezz Al-Din noted that the exhibition serves as a vital platform for empowering Arab youth in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and the digital economy.
