Annual tradition marking Kuwait’s national holidays strengthen diplomatic connections, attendees say
KUWAIT: Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah hosted his annual gathering for members of the diplomatic corps and heads of Arab and foreign missions accredited to Kuwait at Azayez Farm in the Abdaly area, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
On the sidelines of the event, Sheikh Ali said the celebrations held at Azayez Farm coincide with Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day festivities. The annual gatherings traditionally begin with a day dedicated to the ruling family with the attendance of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and His Highness the Crown Prince, followed by a day for diwaniya owners and finally a day hosting the members of the diplomatic corps.
Sheikh Ali expressed his gratitude for the pleasant atmosphere that consistently accompanies the event, saying it creates an environment where people can truly enjoy themselves. He voiced his hope that these invitations would continue in the years ahead. He added that Azayez Farm is constantly renewed by the presence of its guests and family members, emphasizing that their attendance brings vitality and renewal to the place.
Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Dr Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda said the diplomatic day represents a special occasion reflecting the deep-rooted traditions and authentic customs of the Kuwaiti people, while contributing to strengthening ties among accredited diplomats.

Zubaydzoda noted that the event allows diplomats to closely experience Kuwait’s rich culture, pointing out that the Kuwaiti people are distinguished by a deep history and a beautiful culture firmly embedded in society. Bahrain’s Ambassador to Kuwait Salah Ali Al-Malki affirmed that the diplomatic open day is a distinguished social occasion long appreciated by members of the diplomatic corps. He noted that this generous gesture provides a valuable opportunity to exchange conversations and strengthen connections.
Regarding the visit of Bahrain’s Prime Minister to Kuwait, Al-Malki explained that the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, comes within the framework of ongoing fraternal visits that reflect the depth of historical relations between the two ruling families and brotherly peoples. He said such official protocol visits are natural given the deeply rooted ties between the two nations.
Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait Dr Saleh Al-Kharousi described the diplomatic day as a commendable annual tradition that reflects the spirit of communication and closeness among members of the diplomatic corps. He thanked Sheikh Ali Al-Jaber for the gracious invitation, noting that the gathering represents a warm reunion that diplomats have come to cherish, offering an important opportunity to meet colleagues and connect with officials from Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador of Spain Manuel Hernandez Gamallo also voiced his pleasure at attending the diplomatic open day, noting that the event fosters communication and openness among diplomats. He said the pleasant weather and open setting added to the enjoyment of the occasion, which offered an excellent opportunity to meet colleagues, ministers and Kuwaiti friends.
