KUWAIT: Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah has officially launched a surgical robot, called Hugo, at Jaber Al-Ahmad Armed Forces Hospital. The robot is designed to assist medical staff in performing highly precise surgical procedures.
Speaking after his visit on Thursday, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the importance of constantly improving the military healthcare system. “It is vital to support and develop the medical sector in a way that meets the latest medical standards,” he said. He also praised the staff of the Military Medical Services Authority for their dedication to serving the armed forces and their families.
During the visit, the minister watched a detailed presentation highlighting the hospital’s key responsibilities, achievements and ongoing projects aimed at improving healthcare quality. He then toured several hospital departments, including a 14-bed intensive care unit equipped with advanced medical devices, and the Sharifa Al-Hamad Mubarak Al-Sabah Center for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, the first of its kind in Kuwait. — KUNA
