KUWAIT: HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable on Thursday expressing profound gratitude and deep appreciation to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan for launching the “Celebrating Decades of Brotherhood” initiative. HH the Amir also extended his gratitude to UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in this regard.
HH the Amir emphasized that this eventful initiative reflects the depth of the historic fraternal ties that unite the two countries and embodies the cohesion of joint Gulf action, as well as the solidarity of its leaders and peoples throughout history. HH the Amir, according to an Amiri Diwan statement, wished for continued progress, prosperity and well-being to the UAE and its people under the wise leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Jamal Al-Ghunaim on Thursday praised the UAE initiative to mark the “UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever” week. Al-Ghunaim described it as a positive milestone that highlighted the depth of the historic and humanitarian ties between the two brotherly countries and peoples.
In a statement to KUNA on the conclusion of the event, Al-Ghunaim said the week reflected the highest values of fraternity and solidarity, and conveyed a clear message of appreciation that underscores the UAE leadership’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. He expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the initiative, noting the wide official and public participation it received, adding that the Kuwaiti embassy and consulate closely followed the events.
The celebration also served as a platform to explore future prospects for cooperation between Kuwait and the UAE in various fields, particularly economic, educational and cultural sectors, Al-Ghunaim said, stressing that its outcomes would positively impact bilateral partnership and coordination. He commended the efforts of all government and private entities involved in organizing the events that reflected the spirit of joint cooperation and the strength of the bilateral relations.
Separately, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah departed the UAE on Thursday after leading Kuwait’s delegation to the World Governments Summit in Dubai. He was seen off by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs Abdurrahman Al-Owais, as well as UAE Ambassador to UAE Dr Matar Al-Neyadi, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the UAE Al-Ghunaim and Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Khaled Al-Zaaby.
