KUWAIT: Kuwait on Wednesday held a military funeral for duty martyr First Warrant Officer Khaled Ahmad Al-Sharaf, a member of the general department of correctional institutions at the interior ministry, at Al-Sulaibikhat cemetery, after he succumbed to injuries sustained while performing his duty.
The funeral ceremony was attended by Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Interior Ministry Undersecretary Maj Gen Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib, a number of senior security leaders from the ministry of interior and other military bodies, officers and personnel, as well as large crowds of citizens.
Sheikh Fahad extended his deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased, conveying to them the condolences of HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. He praised the martyr’s dedication and sincerity in the performance of his duty, affirming that the sacrifices of security personnel will remain a source of pride and honor for the nation.
Maj Gen Al-Wuhaib said the legacy of duty martyrs will remain illuminated in the nation’s memory and that their sacrifices will never be forgotten, remaining a source of pride for all ministry of interior personnel. He prayed that Allah Almighty grant the martyr His vast mercy, admit him into Paradise and grant his family patience and solace.
Al-Sharaf was among several personnel injured in a fire that broke out on Jan 11 at a building of the general administration of correctional institutions in Sulaibiya. The same incident claimed the lives of duty martyr Colonel Saud Nassar Al-Khamsan and Sergeant Mohammad Saad Al-Hajri, who passed away earlier as a result of the injuries they sustained in the fire. – KUNA
