There were 16 signings by Scottish Premiership clubs on Deadline Day, so here’s a round-up of what happened, and some deals that didn’t…
We start with one of the busiest clubs on the final day of the window – Celtic. Manager Martin O’Neill saw striker Junior Adamu, winger Joel Mvuka and defender Benjamin Arthur all arrive on loan.
It remains to be seen if that will be enough to help the champions claw back a six-point gap on leaders Hearts. Perhaps former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could help that bid? The Hoops are keen on signing the free agent, with talks to follow.
There were three outgoings too as Stephen Welsh returned to Motherwell on loan, goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi moved to Leyton Orient on a permanent deal and Johnny Kenny signed for Bolton Wanderers on loan.
Meanwhile, Arne Engels stayed at the club. That’s despite a £25m bid from Nottingham Forest, which was rejected.
Over at Easter Road, it was also three in and three out.
German wing-back Felix Passlack arrived from VfL Bochumon a three-and-a-half-year deal, while striker Ante Suto signed until the summer of 2028 from Slaven Belupo, plus defender Munashe Garananga arrived from Copenhagen on loan. Heading the other way were Dylan Levitt and Junior Hoilett on permanent deals, plus record-signing Thibault Kildje, who joined Randers on loan.
Rangers wanted a striker on Deadline Day and they got one as Ryan Naderi signed from German third division club Hansa Rostock for £4.7m. The Ibrox side had agreed a £3m move for the summer on Sunday, but 24 hours later pushed through to sign the 22-year-old for the title race run-in. Meanwhile, Joe Rothwell left for Sheffield Utd and Clinton Nsiala moved to Westerlo on loan.
What about the team everyone is trying to catch? Well, after four arrivals earlier in the window, it was all about one outgoing at league leaders Hearts as 18-year-old striker James Wilson departed on loan to Tottenham Hotspur, with an option to make that move permanent. Arsenal also held talks for the Scotland international.
There was one outgoing from the top-flight to Arsenal as St Mirren youngster Evan Mooney left for the Premier League leaders, while Man Utd’s U21 captain Jacob Devaney joined the Paisley club.
As well as seeing Welsh return to Fir Park on loan from Celtic, Motherwell also kept a hold of Tawanda Maswanhise, who is the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer – despite interest from Europe.
Like Celtic, Dundee added three loan signings to their squad, with Lewis Montsma arriving from Lincoln City, Scott Wright from Birmingham City and Aldahir Valenzuela from Monterrey.
Over the road at Dundee United, signed Emmanuel Agyei on a permanent deal from Israeli Premier League side FC Ashdod.
Aberdeen added Dennis Geiger on loan from Hoffenheim, while Adil Aouchiche was recalled by Sunderland before a move to Schalke, plus Leighton Clarkson left for Blackpool.
Falkirk added Aston Villa’s Ben Broggio on loan, while free-agent Aaron Tshibola returned to Kilmarnock until the summer.
