MADRID: Kuwait won the award for Best Organization of an International Padel Competition for hosting the FIP World Cup Pairs, held from Nov 3 to 9, during the 2025 Padel Spain Awards ceremony. Tournament Director Mishal Al-Ansari told KUNA that winning first place globally represents a true culmination of the strong support provided by Kuwait’s wise political leadership and the integrated national efforts that ensured the tournament was delivered at a level befitting Kuwait’s name and stature.
Al-Ansari said the victory, achieved amid strong competition with France, Italy, Mexico and Spain, carries high organizational and symbolic value and confirms Kuwait’s advanced position on the global sports hosting map. He expressed his gratitude to HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for their generous support and guidance, which played a decisive role in the tournament’s success.
Al-Ansari emphasized that the achievement reflects Kuwait’s ability to organize and host major international sporting events according to the highest global standards, describing the award as a worldwide testament of organizational excellence and professionalism.
He added that the achievement was made possible through cooperation among state institutions and continuous support from official bodies, including HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Culture
and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Health Minister Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi and Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Bashar Abdullah.
Al-Ansari praised the pivotal support of BNK Holding Group, describing it as a key pillar behind the tournament’s success, and thanked Tamdeen Group for providing extensive logistical and organizational support that ensured a world-class event under the umbrella of the International Padel Federation.
He said the award sends a clear message that Kuwaiti youth possess the competence and professionalism to manage major international championships, calling it a milestone toward hosting more global events and strengthening Kuwait’s standing as a regional and international sports hub. Al-Ansari added that the tournament delegation met with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Spain Ziad Al-Anbaei, who congratulated them on the achievement and praised their efforts in presenting Kuwait in an outstanding manner.
Nearly 339,500 people participated in the voting process from Dec 15, 2025 to Jan 25, 2026. The awards ceremony took place in Madrid in the presence of leading padel stars, sports legends and coaches. The Padel Spain Awards are the highest independent honors in the world of padel, recognizing top athletes, projects, organizers and products that contribute annually to the sport’s global growth. – KUNA
