KUWAIT: Within the framework of the deep-rooted fraternal and historical relations that unite the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait Airways hosted officials from Emirates Airline on the occasion of the UAE–Kuwait Relations Week, which is held from January 29 to February 4, 2026, under the slogan “UAE and Kuwait: Brothers Forever.”
Kuwait Airways celebrated the occasion at the company’s headquarters in the presence of Kuwait Airways Chairman, Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al-Fagaan, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Kuwait, Dr Matar Al-Neyadi along with Khalfan Al-Salami-Emirates Airline Manager in Kuwait and Iraq, and several officials from both carriers. The ceremony reflected the true spirit of friendship, brotherhood, and strong relations that unite the two sides. During the event, the Emirates Airline delegation was briefed on the history of Kuwait Airways since its establishment in 1954, as well as its latest achievements and developments in the air transport sector.
On this occasion, Kuwait Airways Chairman, Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al-Fagaan, expressed the national carrier of the State of Kuwait’s great pride in participating in this important fraternal occasion. He emphasized that Kuwaiti-Emirati relations represent a strong model of cooperation and integration between the sister countries, founded on solid principles of mutual respect.
Al-Fagaan pointed out that hosting Emirates Airlines comes in appreciation of this commendable initiative, which embodies the deep bonds of brotherhood between the two countries and reflects the keenness of both sides to strengthen channels of communication across various fields, particularly in the aviation and air transport sector, in a manner that serves the interests of the two sides. Al-Fagaan added that Kuwait Airways highly values the role played by Emirates Airlines in supporting the joint cooperation process through such community initiatives.
Al-Fagaan concluded his statement by emphasizing that such events contribute to strengthening the bonds of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and reflect their shared commitment to working together for a brighter future. Adel Al-Ghaith, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Central Region at Emirates Airlines, affirmed that the occasion reflects the deep fraternal and historical ties between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly State of Kuwait, and embodies the vision of the wise leadership in both countries to strengthen cooperation and integration.
He highlighted the pivotal role of the aviation sector as a bridge for communication between people and a facilitator of bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange, emphasizing Emirates Airlines’ commitment to continue collaborating with its partners in the State of Kuwait to serve the interests of the two brotherly nations and support joint development. Al-Ghaith also commended Kuwait Airways’ initiative, emphasizing that such initiatives contribute to strengthening the values of cooperation and foster sustainable, long-term partnerships.
Kuwait Airways and Emirates Airlines recently announced the expansion of their commercial cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a bilateral partnership agreement. This agreement allows customers of both companies to benefit from a wider network of destinations and more diverse and flexible travel options. Under the agreement, Kuwait Airways will have access to 19 international destinations within Emirates Airlines’ global network, which covers numerous countries and regions around the world, including Australia, China, Cyprus, Japan, the United States, South Africa and others.
This enables Kuwait Airways passengers to benefit from a wide variety of destinations with ease and convenience. Similarly, Emirates will have access to 8 destinations within Kuwait Airways’ network, including key hubs in Egypt, Turkey, Iraq and Azerbaijan, thus, providing its passengers with broader options to reach these important markets.
