KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Public Authority of Manpower recorded 44 violations while inspecting industrial facilities in the Shuwaikh industrial area as part of a large-scale campaign to enforce labor laws and safety standards. The inspections, led by Director General Rabab Al-Osaimi, included 123 visits to factories and industrial establishments.
Officials reported that 79 facilities were fully compliant with legal and safety requirements. “The campaign emphasizes monitoring establishments’ adherence to labor regulations, particularly in relation to workforce inspections and occupational health and safety standards, to ensure workers’ rights are protected and workplaces remain safe and stable,” the authority said in a statement.
A total of 37 inspectors took part in the operation, which is part of an ongoing effort to organize the labor market. For the first time, violations were recorded through an electronic system during field visits, allowing instant notifications to be sent to employers.
Al-Osaimi said the inspections are part of a nationwide plan involving specialized teams, aimed at increasing compliance, reducing violations and ensuring fair labor relations. She added that the authority will continue regular inspections to support economic growth, maintain labor market stability and strengthen cooperation with the private sector. — KUNA
