KUWAIT: The Public Authority of Manpower announced on Thursday the addition of two key features to the exit permit system, allowing expat workers and their employers to get an exit permit valid for several trips instead of only a single one. It also allowed employers and expats to obtain automatic pre-approval for the permits.
The authority said exit permits are no longer limited to a single trip after adding the multiple-travel option in a bid to make procedures easier for expats and their employers. Last year, Kuwait introduced the exit permit for the first time as a precondition for all expat workers to leave the country. The manpower authority was entrusted with issuing such permits through its online services. The service is valid for a certain duration that must be determined by the beneficiaries, the authority said.
In the other key service, business establishments in the private sector can provide their expat workers automatic pre-approval of the exit permits. The service can be applied to the entire workforce of a company, some of them or even for an individual. The service allows the manager authorized to sign to grant an automatic preapproval of the exit permit to all the workers without the need to approve each application separately, the authority said.
The service allows the authority to issue the exit permit as soon as any worker requests it, it said. The manager authorized to sign can also exclude some workers, the authority said. Companies are allowed to cancel the service any time they wish. The two services can be obtained through the authority’s Ashal portal under the expat workers services.
