KUWAIT: Zain Kuwait sponsored the second International Dasman Diabetes Summit (IDDS 2026), organized by Dasman Diabetes Institute, a center of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). This support reflects Zain’s commitment to advancing preventive healthcare and scientific research and innovation, and to contributing to a more efficient and sustainable healthcare ecosystem by leveraging digital solutions and modern technologies in service of the community.
Zain participated in the summit, held at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait and joined by Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi, Acting Director General of Dasman Diabetes Institute Dr Faisal Hamed Al-Rifai, Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al-Khashti, along with a distinguished group of global specialists and experts.
This step comes as an extension of the MoU recently signed between Zain and Dasman Diabetes Institute, aimed at strengthening cooperation in innovation, science and technology related to diabetes, and supporting national efforts to enhance quality of life and reduce health risks through advanced digital solutions.
IDDS 2026 served as a specialized international scientific platform focused on advanced diabetes care, highlighting diabetic foot management and innovative treatments, while also addressing prevention, a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms, early intervention strategies and the management of complex complications. The program featured leading experts, researchers and specialists from around the world.
This step reflects the practical translation of the MoU’s outcomes, which include the implementation of a pilot project to develop digital solutions for people living with diabetes through smart devices for measuring vital indicators and supporting preventive care.
It also includes developing a secure digital health platform for data management and analytics under the full supervision of Dasman Diabetes Institute and in line with the highest privacy standards, as well as strengthening joint scientific research with academic entities and in collaboration with global partners, supported by Zain’s technological capabilities.
