KUWAIT: HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Tuesday Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on the occasion of his official visit to the country. The meeting was attended by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
An official reception ceremony was held for the visiting president, beginning with the playing of the national anthems of both countries. HH the Amir then greeted members of the president’s accompanying official delegation, after which President Faye greeted senior state officials. An official round of talks was subsequently held, with the Kuwait side headed by HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal and Senegalese side by President Faye, in the presence of HH the Crown Prince, HH the Prime Minister and a number of senior officials from both countries.

Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah said the talks reviewed bilateral relations linking the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to develop them across all fields. The discussions also addressed expanding frameworks of cooperation to broader horizons in a manner that serves mutual interests, in addition to reviewing key issues of common concern, recent regional and international developments, and exchanging views thereon. A luncheon banquet was also held in honor of Faye and his accompanying official delegation. – KUNA
