KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed that the Ministry of Information is proceeding in accordance with a clear strategic vision aimed at developing the national media system and enhancing the quality of content and major events. This came in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Information following a meeting chaired by Minister Al-Mutairi with ministry officials to review final preparations for the closing ceremony of the Kuwait Grand Media Award (Shiraa), as well as arrangements for the accompanying media event ahead of the French Super Cup match, which is being organized by the ministry.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the visual presentation of Kuwait Television’s Ramadan programming schedule. Al-Mutairi said that working within the framework of the ministry’s strategy reflects the civilized image of Kuwait and keeps pace with rapid developments in the media sector, stressing that integration between planning and implementation is a key pillar of the ministry’s work during the current phase.
He noted that the Shiraa Award represents one of the ministry’s significant national media initiatives, underscoring its commitment to supporting media excellence, creativity and professional talent. He added that the award’s closing ceremony is the culmination of high-quality professional efforts and reflects a high level of professionalism in organizing major media events. Al-Mutairi explained that organizing the media event accompanying the French Super Cup is part of the ministry’s approach to strengthening media presence at major sporting events and producing visual content that demonstrates the capability of national institutions to organize events in line with the highest standards.
He also emphasized the ministry’s commitment to developing Ramadan programming in terms of concept, content and presentation, in order to meet public expectations, strengthen national media identity, and employ modern technologies in production and broadcasting.
