KUWAIT: Assistant Undersecretary for Supporting Security Services Major General Ali Al-Adwani has reaffirmed the security leadership’s commitment to supporting the educational process and strengthening the academic role in preparing qualified national security personnel capable of maintaining Kuwait’s security and stability and enhancing the readiness of its security forces.
In a press statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Interior said the remarks were made during an inspection visit by Major General Al-Adwani to the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences, as part of ongoing efforts to develop the education and training system. During the visit, Major General Al-Adwani praised the efforts of those overseeing the educational and training process and wished students continued success. He reviewed the progress of education and training at the Police College, the Police School and the Women’s Police Institute, as well as student numbers and the operational mechanism of the newly established Central Examinations Committee.
The committee aims to standardize examinations for specialized officer cadets, enhance academic fairness and ensure the quality of educational outcomes. Al-Adwani also followed up on the conduct of examinations during the current period. The visit included a review of the academic status of students studying at military colleges in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in addition to several development plans designed to raise the level of education and training at the academy. The academy’s key achievements and upcoming national engagements were also highlighted.
Two suspects arrested
In a separate incident, Ministry of Interior forces arrested two suspects accused of deliberately ramming into a military serviceman on duty in the Al-Wafra farming area of Al-Ahmadi Governorate. The injured serviceman sustained injuries to his hands and left leg and was transferred to Sabah Al-Ahmad Hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday. The ministry also reported that two vehicles were impounded after their drivers were detained for reckless and irresponsible driving. It stressed that reckless driving, attempts to flee or assault security personnel on duty are serious offenses that endanger lives, affirming that such cases will be dealt with firmly and without leniency. — KUNA
