KUWAIT: The International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Chief of Mission in Kuwait, Mazen AboulHosn, on Monday commended Kuwait for its prominent humanitarian role, describing the country as a global hub recognized for its distinguished efforts in assisting vulnerable communities across crisis-affected regions.
AboulHosn made the remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during a meeting with Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Chairman Khaled Al-Mughames, where they reviewed ongoing IOM projects in several countries and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in humanitarian assistance, health and education for broader and more effective outreach. He highlighted Kuwait’s position as one of IOM’s principal supporters, noting that several recent cooperation agreements have been signed and coordination is underway to establish new partnerships in Syria, Yemen, and Sudan to strengthen joint humanitarian initiatives.
For his part, Al-Mughames said KRCS continues to reinforce its regional and international humanitarian role by supporting vulnerable groups and building strong partnerships with global organizations to achieve sustainable humanitarian outcomes. He added that the Society prioritizes expanding collaboration with UN agencies and specialized organizations to improve the quality of relief, health and development programs, further consolidating Kuwait’s longstanding humanitarian presence across major global initiatives. The meeting took place at KRCS headquarters with the participation of senior officials from the organization. — KUNA
