KUWAIT: As part of its unwavering commitment to implementing the highest security and safety standards, National Bank of Kuwait successfully conducted an evacuation drill at NBK building in Al-Rai area. The drill aimed to assess the readiness of the bank’s security and safety teams to handle emergencies, and to enhance employee awareness of proper evacuation procedures, ensuring a safe working environment as per top international practices.
NBK’s Security Department supervised the execution of this drill in cooperation with the relevant government agencies, represented by the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior, the Emergency Medical Services Department at the Ministry of Health, and the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate to ensure rapid response and effective procedures. On this occasion, Khalid Al-Matrouk, Chief Security Officer and Head of Anti-Financial Crime-Kuwait at National Bank of Kuwait, said: “At NBK, we are keen to conduct evacuation drills periodically to test the readiness of systems and facilities and enhance employee awareness of how to deal with emergencies, in addition to raising our security teams’ level of expertise in dealing with such situations”.
Al-Matrouk also noted that the safety and security of employees and customers is a top priority for NBK, further stressing its commitment to implementing the latest international standards in this field. Moreover, Al-Matrouk added: “The commitment of the employees to implementing the guidelines and using the emergency exits according to the plan reflects the success of this experiment and confirms the importance of continued cooperation with the government agencies that did not hesitate to provide support and assistance, most notably the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior, the Emergency Medical Services Department at the Ministry of Health, and the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate”.
NBK continues to regularly organize training courses and educational seminars for its employees that pertain to security and safety procedures, stemming from its dedication to promote a culture of safety in the work environment, and to apply the highest internationally approved standards. It is worth noting that the NBK building in Al-Rai is part of the NBK’s vital infrastructure, and its design takes into account the highest international safety standards, not only in terms of engineering design, but also in the selection and distribution of materials, in addition to adopting the latest fire extinguishing, alarm and emergency exit systems, which aim to ensure top safety levels.
