GAZA: The Palestinian Civil Defense reported that thousands of displaced people in the Khan Younis area and the outskirts of Rafah, in southern Gaza, were trapped in their deteriorating tents due to heavy rains and severe weather conditions. The Civil Defense warned that many lacked adequate shelter and resources to cope with the disaster. In a press statement, the Civil Defense said it had received numerous urgent appeals from displaced families living in dire conditions without access to basic necessities. Authorities were called upon to intervene immediately to rescue as many people as possible.
Meanwhile, the administration of the Kuwaiti Specialized Hospital in Khan Younis confirmed that several of its departments were flooded, causing temporary suspension of operations in the operating rooms, obstetrics and gynecology department, and inpatient wards. Hospital staff are working to pump out water and repair extensive damage, while the remaining departments continue to provide medical services. The situation comes as the Zionist occupation continues to block the entry of tents, mobile homes, and heavy equipment for rubble removal, despite the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. International organizations have warned that conditions imposed for the reconstruction of Gaza could delay rebuilding efforts for years. — KUNA
