KUWAIT: The Cabinet held its weekly meeting on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Bayan Palace, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Shareeda Abdullah Al-Maousherji, highlighted key discussions and decisions. The Cabinet was briefed on the formation of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the 46th Ordinary Session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in Bahrain on December 3. The delegation includes senior officials from the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Finance and other key government offices.
The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the launch of the “Celebrating Decades of Brotherhood” initiative, praising the longstanding fraternal ties between Kuwait and the UAE.
Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance, and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr Sabeeh Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, briefed the Cabinet on the Prime Minister’s visit to the GE Vernova Technology Center on the occasion of its tenth anniversary in Kuwait, highlighting the center’s role in power generation, advanced control systems, and national capacity building in energy technologies. The Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to attracting foreign investments and enhancing cooperation between the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and GE Vernova.
The Cabinet extended congratulations to the Sultanate of Oman on its 55th National Day, commending the strong bilateral relations and the country’s civilizational achievements under His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The Cabinet reviewed the Ministry of Health’s report on overseas medical treatment, noting ongoing efforts to improve patient services, activate medical evacuation, establish virtual health offices, and govern financial and procedural aspects of overseas treatment. Ministers were tasked with providing periodic updates every six months.
Regarding public safety, the Cabinet approved the demolition of 67 unsafe properties in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, executed in coordination with Kuwait Municipality, the Ministries of Public Works, Interior, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Health, and the General Fire Force, ensuring the safety of surrounding areas. The Cabinet was briefed on Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings’ recent upgrade of Kuwait’s sovereign rating from A+ to AA- with a stable outlook, citing progress in economic reforms, diversification, infrastructure development and fiscal sustainability. The Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to continuing reforms and tasked the Minister of Finance with periodic reporting on progress.
In international achievements, the Cabinet praised Kuwait’s election to a four-year seat on UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee, recognizing the country’s cultural and civilizational contributions. The Cabinet also commended the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for achieving an 86 percent compliance rate in the ICAO USOAP-CMA audit, reflecting Kuwait’s advanced adherence to aviation safety standards and readiness for operations at the new Kuwait International Airport (T2).
Finally, the Cabinet approved the minutes of the Higher Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship Verification, including cases of citizenship loss and withdrawal in accordance with Law No (15) of 1959, and referred several agenda items to relevant ministerial committees for further study and implementation. The Cabinet emphasized its commitment to advancing Kuwait’s economic, social, and international standing while ensuring public safety, infrastructure development and adherence to global standards across sectors. — KUNA
