KUWAIT: The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, part of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), announced on Sunday that five of its teams have qualified for the international Robotex competition in Estonia this December, following their victories at the national Robotex contest. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the center highlighted that the Robotex competition in Estonia, held annually for the past 25 years, is one of the largest and most prestigious robotics events worldwide, serving as a global hub for innovation and technology.
The national qualifying competition took place at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), where the center’s teams emerged victorious, earning the right to compete on the international stage on December 5 and 6 against teams from numerous countries. The qualifying teams are as follows: Sumo Competition (Under 14): 1st place: Al-Saif team — Saud Al-Khanna and Abdulwahab Al-Salal; 2nd place: Al-Sour team — Ghada Al-Anzi and Luluah Al-Ajmi; 3rd place: Al-Sinafi team — Ali Al-Mu’min and Abdulaziz Al-Sayigh
Line Following Competition (Under 14): 1st place: Kafu team — Mohammed Al-Mutairi and Saud Al-Ajmi; 2nd place: Al-Dana team — Amna Abdullah and Aseel Al-Wasmi. The center extended its congratulations to the five qualifying teams, wishing them success in representing Kuwait and achieving commendable results at the international level. It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth and enhancing their skills in robotics and artificial intelligence, emphasizing the importance of investing in national talent and nurturing an innovative generation capable of competing globally. — KUNA
