KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, inaugurated the KLand tourism and entertainment project on Thursday, a collaborative initiative between the Tourism Projects Company, Zain, Kuwait International Bank and Sheeel. Speaking to reporters, Minister Al-Mutairi said the project caters to all age groups through its comprehensive range of services. He expressed optimism that future editions will build on past experience and institutional expertise to achieve greater success and desired outcomes.
He noted that several upcoming tourism projects have been announced on the Visit Kuwait platform, which provides visitors with detailed information about events, sites, and services. An interactive map and the digital guide “Rashid” have been developed to present all locations and events in a unique and accessible format. Minister Al-Mutairi highlighted that festivals and events will continue to expand through partnerships with the private sector and civil society, maintaining high standards of quality and organization.
He explained that specialized meetings are held for each event submitted by companies, nonprofit organizations, initiatives, or government entities to ensure proper planning, presentation, and alignment with platform standards before launch. “We have significant capabilities to address the challenges we face, and through partnerships with governmental and private entities, we will contribute to the development of existing projects,” he said.
He further affirmed plans to attract international events, including the Padel World Championship and the French Super Cup, to Kuwait. Minister Al-Mutairi stressed that all events will adhere to international best practices while reflecting Kuwait’s society, identity, and culture within a comprehensive tourism framework. Highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance tourism standards, he said major agreements have been signed with leading companies across sectors, leveraging the World Tourism Organization’s internationally recognized standards.
He emphasized the commitment to supporting and encouraging local and international companies to adopt successful models and apply them in partnership with government institutions and the private sector. The KLand project features an open area for cafes, restaurants, and shops with free entry, showcasing national youth brands. It includes seaside seating with a capacity of 172 people, a 2,000-square-meter games area with all-inclusive tickets, diverse outdoor play zones, and a delegation rest area highlighting Kuwaiti youth projects, demonstrating the private sector’s active role in supporting national initiatives. — KUNA
