KUWAIT: The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) announced on Tuesday the launch of its annual Science Month 2025, themed “Oceans: From Imagination to Discovery”, scheduled to begin this Thursday at the Scientific Center from 5 pm to 8 pm. The event will feature a wide array of scientific activities blending knowledge, entertainment, and discovery.
In a press statement, KFAS highlighted that Science Month is an annual celebration of science, technology, and innovation, featuring a month-long series of interactive activities designed to spark curiosity among young people, foster scientific creativity, and nurture a spirit of exploration. This year’s edition focuses on the secrets of the seas and oceans, linking Kuwait’s rich maritime heritage with contemporary science and future innovations, while emphasizing the importance of sustainability for life on Earth.
The program includes more than 30 events across multiple venues, catering to various age groups and engaging schools, universities, research centers, and the general public in a collective journey of learning and discovery. KFAS noted that the Science Month program spans a diverse range of scientific topics, from marine and coastal ecosystems to space exploration, including the observation of the solar system, moons, and asteroids. The season also highlights innovation and technology fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, and underwater exploration.
The foundation added that the initiative also showcases educational and community activities, including STEM programs for teachers, beach clean-up campaigns, bird and planetary observation, and interactive exhibitions celebrating Kuwait’s maritime heritage through scientific documentation. KFAS concluded that the goal of Science Month is to transform scientific curiosity into knowledge, provide opportunities for learning and discovery, and strengthen Kuwait’s role in the global movement that views science as both a bridge for communication and a driver of progress. — KUNA
