KUWAIT: The Municipal Council, during its main session on Monday chaired by Vice Chairman Khaled Al-Mutairi, approved amendments to the building and commercial ratios for the Educational, Cultural, and Recreational Center project located on Abdullah Al-Ahmad Street. The Council explained that under the revised plan, Block (A) will feature a 40-storey tower with three underground parking levels. The ground through 13th floors will be dedicated to rental spaces for cultural, recreational, educational, and commercial purposes, while floors 14 through 40 will be allocated for hotel use, administrative offices or a mix of both.
Block (B), the Council added, will include an 11-storey building comprising three underground parking levels and ten above-ground floors for rental spaces. Meanwhile, Block (C) will consist of a six-storey public parking facility with three underground and five above-ground levels to serve the surrounding area.

The building’s rooftop terrace will be developed into a free skate park. During the same session, the Council approved the request of the Kuwait Anti-Doping Agency to allocate a site for its permanent headquarters in the Ardiya government area. It also endorsed the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company’s request to establish a sales outlet within the Andalus suburb center.
Additionally, the Council approved the Public Institution for Social Security’s request to allocate a portion of a surface parking area to serve its premises in Mubarak Al-Abdullah. It also agreed to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ request to cancel the site of a planned mosque and parking area in the Diplomatic Quarter, Block 2, and reallocate the same site for the installation of a flagpole, as requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. — KUNA
