KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior on Saturday issued a stern warning against entering, hunting, or trespassing in the country’s nature reserves, stressing that such actions are prohibited and will be met with strict legal measures. In a press statement, the Ministry said the warning comes as part of ongoing efforts to preserve Kuwait’s natural environment and protect wildlife from illegal activities. It noted that vehicles, hunting tools and falcons used within the boundaries of nature reserves will be confiscated, and violators will face legal action in coordination with the Environment Public Authority and other relevant bodies.
The Ministry emphasized that field campaigns are being carried out across various regions to detect and prevent violations that threaten ecosystems and biodiversity. It reaffirmed that no leniency will be shown toward individuals who tamper with environmental resources or breach laws regulating protected areas. Citizens and residents were urged to adhere to environmental regulations and refrain from entering reserves, in order to safeguard Kuwait’s natural heritage for future generations.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior conducted a large-scale security and traffic campaign in the Al-Khairan area, resulting in 467 traffic violations and the arrest of 16 violators and wanted individuals. The campaign was carried out under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, with the direct supervision of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Hamed Al-Dawwas and participation from multiple security sectors.
According to the Ministry, the operation led to the detention of 10 individuals, the arrest of one wanted person and another for violating residency laws, the referral of three individuals for not carrying a driver’s license, and the referral of one juvenile. Authorities also seized two vehicles and a motorcycle wanted by the judiciary and impounded 20 vehicles and motorcycles. The Ministry affirmed that such security and traffic campaigns will continue across the country, as part of efforts to enforce the law, enhance public safety, and ensure the security of citizens and residents. – KUNA
