KUWAIT: Deputy Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Lieutenant General Huseyin Kurtoglu and an accompanying delegation visited on Thursday Al-Tahreer and Sheikh Salem Al-Ali camps of the Kuwait National Guard (KNG). In a statement, the National Guard said the Turkish delegation was received upon arrival at Al-Tahreer Camp by Assistant for Financial Affairs and Resources Management, Major General Riyadh Tawari who briefed the visitors on the KNG’s missions and its role in supporting and assisting state institutions under various circumstances.
The visit included a tour of the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Center for Chemical Defense and Radiological Monitoring, where the delegation was received by Director of Facilities Management Brigadier Engineer Thamer Awad. The visitors were briefed on the center’s operations and its advanced monitoring stations, equipment and modern devices used in detection and decontamination tasks.
The Turkish officers also toured Al-Tahreer Camp’s field grounds, where they were briefed on the vehicles and equipment used by the National Guard in field operations and in supporting government agencies, including the implementation of the state’s rainfall response plan. The visit also included a stop at Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Camp, where the delegation was welcomed by Commander of Operations and Training Brigadier General Staff Officer Saleh Ghoneim.
The Turkish guests toured the shooting ranges, simulated training grounds, sniper range, and the 91st Mechanized Infantry Battalion. According to the statement, the visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between the Kuwait National Guard and the Turkish Gendarmerie, contributing to the development of joint training and field operations. — KUNA
