KUWAIT: President of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and President of the Court of Cassation Dr Adel Bouresli on Wednesday emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination among the heads of the supreme and cassation courts in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to strengthen joint work and advance judicial development.
Bouresli made the remarks during the 11th Regular Meeting of the Heads of the Supreme and Cassation Courts in the GCC held in Kuwait. He said the gathering reflects the spirit of coordination and mutual understanding among GCC states, promoting the exchange of ideas and visions to achieve constructive cooperation between the highest judicial bodies and all courts, serving the interests of member countries and enhancing the GCC’s regional and international stature.
He highlighted that the meeting provides an important platform to bridge gaps between the courts of GCC states, exchange views on procedures that may hinder the enforcement of judicial rulings, and develop practical solutions to overcome any obstacles. The agenda, Bouresli noted, includes several vital topics, such as strengthening judicial cooperation between the supreme and cassation courts in GCC countries, promoting judicial and administrative excellence among judges and employees, and presenting the Judicial and Administrative Excellence Awards.
