KUWAIT: On the occasion of Egypt’s October 6 Victory anniversary, the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait hosted a reception on Wednesday, honoring not only Egypt’s historic triumph but also the courage and sacrifice of Kuwaiti soldiers who fought alongside their Egyptian brothers. Colonel Mustafa Al-Dallal, Defense Attaché of the Egyptian Embassy, highlighted Kuwait’s pivotal role during the 1967 and 1973 wars. “On June 5, 1967, the Kuwaiti people woke up to an Amiri decree declaring that the State of Kuwait was in a defensive war with the occupying entity in Palestine,” he said. “Kuwait’s participation was never symbolic — it devoted money, effort, ammunition, and lives.”
Kuwaiti soldiers were the first Arab military contingent to reach Sinai, and their bravery earned praise from the late Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, who said, “The Kuwaiti soldier and officer side by side with his Egyptian brother.” Fifty-three Kuwaiti martyrs fell during the War of Attrition and the October 1973 war, and their graves in Egypt still bear witness to their valor. Colonel Al-Dallal paid tribute to Egypt’s Armed Forces while emphasizing the shared courage that united both nations’ soldiers. “The men of the Armed Forces are the sons of that great people, who contributed to making its glories and continue to preserve its capabilities,” he said.
