The Reds host their city rivals at Anfield in a 12pm BST kick-off to begin the 2025-26 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign.
Ahead of the meeting, Taylor was quizzed on the availability of his players for this weekend’s Merseyside derby opener.
“Alejandra Bernabe is not going to be available due to the existing injury that she had,” he told his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“[With] Risa [Shimizu], we’ll check in on that one before we make any real key decisions. But outside of that pretty much everyone is still healthy apart from the ones you realise already like Zara Shaw.”
Bernabe, Shimizu, Beata Olsson and Emilia Szymczak were all deadline-day arrivals for Liverpool on Thursday, with Shimizu and Szymczak joining on loan from Manchester City and Barcelona respectively.
Asked about how quickly all four will be able to integrate into his team, Taylor added: “Each player will be a case and point.
“Risa will probably take a little bit longer in a sense of she’s ready now and she’s training. But to expect, on the back of the injury that she had, [for her] to be able to play week in, week out is not going to be feasible at this moment in time.
“They’re all kind of different. But as much as we can they’ll be integrated as much as possible here at Melwood, which is great for us as an environment to bond and get to know each other.”
