A closer look at 2024-25
Isak joins the reigning champions on the back of his most productive Premier League season so far.
Last term, his total of 23 goals (from an xG of 20.42) was bettered only by new teammate Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot while, with six, he also comfortably topped his previous best in terms of assists provided.
Isak registered a total of 46 shots on target, up from 36 in 2023-24, and recorded 211 touches in the opposition box (a total that was, again, fewer than only one player: Salah).
He successfully converted all four of his penalties last season and has netted 11 out of 12 in the division overall.
Award wins
Isak won both the Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for December 2024.
He scored eight times and provided two assists in six appearances while, ironically, his award-worthy goal was netted against Liverpool: a ferocious hit from just outside the penalty area that opened the scoring in a pulsating 3-3 draw at St. James’.
“What a finish that was… that shot from Isak, I don’t even know if Caoimh [Kelleher] saw that goal, as hard as it was,” said an admiring Arne Slot post-match.
Indeed, it was officially the most ferocious strike in last season’s Premier League, as it won the Most Powerful Goal accolade for 2024-25. Isak’s shot was measured to have an average speed of 108.94 km/h between the ball leaving his boot and crossing the goalline.
