KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health is placing the development and support of national medical talent at the forefront of its strategy, Health Minister Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi said Thursday. Speaking at an event for newly graduated doctors and final-year medical students, held under his patronage with senior health officials in attendance, Dr Al-Awadhi praised the role of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS) in preparing the next generation of doctors.
He emphasized that caring for national medical competencies “is a priority in the ministry’s strategy,” according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health.
Dr Al-Awadhi explained that the ministry is keen to create a learning and training environment that fosters excellence and creativity while keeping pace with global developments in medical education. “Investing in young medical talents directly reflects on the quality of services provided to the community and enhances Kuwait’s regional and international standing,” he added.

The event featured a visual presentation and a detailed explanation of the basic training program, along with an overview of the Kuwait Board programs and study missions. The activities were designed to introduce new doctors to their upcoming academic and professional pathways and enable them to participate in comprehensive training programs that meet the highest standards. Dedicated offices for all training programs, units, and departments at KIMS were also set up during the event to allow doctors to ask questions and provide suggestions directly. — KUNA
