KUWAIT: Ministry of Justice on Sunday signed with Kuwait Bar Association (KBA) protocols of cooperation, declaring the association a professional and community partner in the ministry’s comprehensive reform project to better modernize legislation and develop the country’s institutional justice infrastructure.
The protocol was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Justice by Acting Undersecretary Awatif Al-Sanad and on behalf of the Kuwait Bar Association, President Adnan Abul.Minister of Justice Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol, which took place at the headquarters of the KBA.
Al-Sumait said that the cooperation between the Ministry and KBA aims to enhance governance and data exchange, especially since “KBA is best placed to investigate the shortcomings and problems facing the system, which can only be achieved with its presence as a key partner in development.”
He also added that a direct communications channel will be established between the two sides to develop the Ministry’s services, while also mentioning that Ministry of Justice, members of the judiciary and the KBA are the main players in developing the system.Head of KBA, said in a statement that this protocol is the first of its kind between civil society institutions and ministries, appreciating the Ministry’s confidence and cooperation.
Abul also mentioned that to further confirm the cooperation, the protocol includes key aspects, including a hotline between the two sides to receive all comments and administrative matters of interest to lawyers and their daily dealings in court, with all departments and divisions affiliated with the ministry. — KUNA
