KUWAIT: The Al-Fintas Folk Troupe brought Kuwait’s traditional heritage to life at The Avenues Mall on Saturday, performing as part of the 17th edition of the Summer Cultural Festival organized by National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL). Speaking to KUNA, the troupe’s leader, Najeeb Al-Muzae’el, said the group, founded in 1919, is one of Kuwait’s oldest folk ensembles. “Al-Fintas Troupe is famous for presenting a variety of performance arts including Samri, Ashori, and the Najdi, sea, and war Ardah,” he said, adding that the group performs at national and social occasions and is committed to preserving Kuwait’s folk heritage.
Members of the troupe delighted the audience with vibrant performances of Kuwaiti folklore, drumming lively rhythms that drew strong interaction from the crowd and added an extra layer of joy to the mall experience. The NCCAL’s summer festival runs through August 29 and features a wide range of cultural and artistic activities aimed at raising awareness of national heritage among the community. — KUNA
