KUWAIT: Under the patronage of Kuwait University President Dina Al-Mailam, the university marked the graduation of students from its Language Center for the academic year 2024/2025 on August 7, 2025. The ceremony, held at Sabah Al-Salem University City, welcomed ambassadors from sister countries and members of the academic community, highlighting Kuwait University’s role in fostering international academic and cultural cooperation.
Acting Dean of Student Affairs Jassim Al-Hamdan, warmly greeted the audience and praised the graduates. “Today, we celebrate the graduation of a brilliant group of Language Center scholarship students, who came to us from various countries and continents, bringing with them their languages and cultures, and their high hopes, to become an unforgettable part of the story of Kuwait University,” he said.
He emphasized that the students’ experience was more than language learning. “You are now ambassadors of knowledge and ambassadors of Kuwait University wherever you go, so carry what you have learned here with integrity and be role models of excellence and good morals.” Al-Hamdan also thanked the faculty for creating an ideal environment that opens “new horizons of knowledge and success.”
Dr Lamis Ahmed Al-Bustan, Acting Director of the Language Center, highlighted the center’s global reach, welcoming 120 students from 30 nations. “Kuwait University has spared no effort in providing an ideal educational environment for students from different countries,” she said. She stressed that the center goes beyond teaching Arabic, encouraging “respect, tolerance, and a sense of identity” through cultural exchange.
Dr Khaled Al-Fadhli, head of the Arabic Language Unit for Non-Native Speakers, described the celebration as “a unique opportunity to learn about other cultures.” He noted the importance of the graduates becoming “ambassadors for Kuwait in their countries” and praised Kuwait University’s commitment to nurturing a “promising generation” in an inclusive educational setting.
The event featured a visual presentation celebrating the students’ journey, supported by faculty and staff. The ceremony concluded with honors given to President Dina Al-Mailam, represented by Al-Hamdan who accepted the award on her behalf, and recognition of the graduating students with their certificates. This graduation reflects Kuwait University’s dedication to expanding academic and cultural ties worldwide, aligning with Kuwait’s broader vision of civilizational growth through knowledge and cooperation.
