KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality announced on Sunday the demolition of 60 dilapidated buildings in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, due to their unsafe condition. In a press statement, the municipality said the operation is part of its ongoing campaign to raze rundown and hazardous buildings following the expiry of the deadline set under the approved schedule. The campaign aims to safeguard lives, property and public safety.
The Municipality noted the demolition work is being carried out in coordination with Kuwait Fire Force, as well as the ministries of interior, electricity and water, and health, to ensure all necessary precautions and safety measures are in place. It recalled that on Nov 24, the municipality issued a decision to evacuate and demolish 67 buildings in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh after determining they were structurally unsafe and posed a serious risk to residents, neighboring properties and the public. — KUNA
