KUWAIT: The 25th edition of the International Music Festival concluded on Sunday with a “Music for Peace” concert at the Drama Theater in the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC). In a speech, Musaed Al-Zamel, Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector at the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL), emphasized that the Council, under Secretary-General Dr Mohammad Al-Jassar and with the support of assistant secretaries across various sectors, continues to advance cultural and artistic development in Kuwait.
Al-Zamel highlighted the Council’s focus on engaging with creatives and their ideas as a key pillar for future cultural initiatives. He also expressed gratitude for the generous patronage of the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, who serves as Chairman of NCCAL, in supporting the festival, which was inaugurated on October 22.
He noted that the festival celebrated loyalty and appreciation for contributors to Kuwaiti, Gulf and Arab culture, and that the opening ceremony honored the esteemed artist Abdulaziz Al-Mufarrej, known as “The Voice of Kuwait,” in recognition of his distinguished career. Al-Zamel also expressed delight that Kuwait hosted members of the Arab Music Assembly for their 28th conference, noting that their participation enriched the festival through discussions, recommendations, and interactions aimed at advancing music across the Gulf and the Arab world. — KUNA
