KUWAIT: The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) announced Sunday the conclusion of its ‘Tomorrow’s Tech Leaders’ program, organized in collaboration with Huawei to train top Kuwaiti university students in computer science.
The program, held from August 15-30, offered practical training at Huawei innovation centers in Shenzhen and Dongguan, China, providing participants hands-on experience with cutting-edge information and communication technologies.
KFAS said in a press statement that the initiative “achieved its objectives in preparing national competencies capable of contributing to leading the digital transformation in the State of Kuwait.”
A total of 15 high-achieving students took part in intensive training covering future networks, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, conducted within Huawei’s specialized labs such as the Galileo and Darwin Exhibition Centers.
The program also included field visits to the The Huawei Cyber Security Transparency Centre, where students explored the latest cybersecurity applications, and a large-scale data center in Dongguan, allowing participants to engage directly in advanced technological environments. In a press statement, Huawei reaffirmed its commitment to empowering national competencies with future-ready tools. Beyond technical training, the program featured a cultural component, with interactive tours of smart cities and scientific and cultural landmarks, helping participants broaden their perspectives and deepen their understanding of sustainable innovation.
The initiative concluded with a formal certificate ceremony, attended by representatives from KFAS and Huawei, underscoring both parties’ commitment to supporting and equipping national talent for future technologies. KFAS emphasized that the program is a strategic step in building a comprehensive national system to prepare future technology leaders and strengthen partnerships with leading global institutions. — KUNA
