Minister oversees seizure of Abdali farm used to store, smuggle petroleum products, visits border security units
KUWAIT: Under the direct supervision of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Hamed Manahi Al-Dawas, the Ministry of Interior successfully dismantled an illegal operation involving the storage and smuggling of petroleum products. The move forms part of ongoing efforts to combat crimes that threaten the national economy and curb unlawful activities.

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior personnel raid a farm in Al-Abdali used for storing and smuggling diesel outside the country. The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and in the presence of Major General Hamed Al-Dawas, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs.

The General Department of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Jahra Governorate Investigations Department, seized a farm in the Abdali area used for storing and smuggling diesel outside the country. Acting on intelligence reports indicating containers of petroleum products hidden on the site, authorities obtained a search warrant and carried out the operation.
The raid led to the seizure of 33 containers of diesel, along with machinery and pumps used for extracting and transferring fuel. Nine suspects were arrested, including a Kuwaiti citizen believed to be orchestrating the illegal activities. The farm owner was apprehended at the Al-Nuwaiseeb border crossing while attempting to flee. Authorities also confiscated receipts for overseas money transfers involving large sums, which are now under investigation.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed its commitment to withdraw land holdings exploited for illegal activities or used for purposes other than those designated, and to take all necessary legal measures against those involved before referring them to the competent authorities. The ministry stressed the continuation of security campaigns to apprehend violators, combat smuggling, and safeguard the nation’s resources, urging the public to report any suspicious activities.
In a related development, Sheikh Fahad visited the General Directorate of Land Border Security, where he was briefed on measures for securing the country’s borders. The visit underscores the security leadership’s commitment to following field operations closely and staying updated on the latest security techniques. During the visit, Sheikh Fahad commended the performance and dedication of border security personnel and emphasized the importance of developing security systems, enhancing staff efficiency, and utilizing modern technologies in line with evolving security challenges.
He was presented with the new border safeguarding system, including its mechanisms and advanced techniques aimed at raising operational readiness. Sheikh Fahad also visited the Buhaith Border Center, where he was briefed on its preparedness and implemented security measures. He was received by Head of Border Security Affairs and Coast Guard, Major General Mujbel bin Shawq, along with senior officials. – Agencies
