KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior is bringing scientific research into the front lines of its security work. The ministry signed a cooperation agreement with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) on Wednesday to make scientific research a central part of training and decision-making for security personnel.
The signing took place at the Nawaf Al-Ahmad building in Sabhan, with Undersecretary Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib and KFAS Deputy Director General Dr Fahad Al-Fadhli in attendance.
The ministry said the agreement represents a strategic step in modernizing security education and training. “We aim to apply research to identify today’s security challenges and develop innovative solutions based on solid scientific methods,” it said.
Under the protocol, security training institutions will become knowledge hubs, producing specialized studies and research rather than simply passing on experience. Security personnel will develop analytical and research skills, helping them stay ready and adaptable in a fast-changing world.
The partnership also focuses on building research and training capacities through academic programs, researcher development and innovation initiatives. Linking research outputs to the real needs of security work ensures theory is put into practice.
“This cooperation reflects our belief in investing in human capital as the core of development,” the ministry said. Targeted research and sustainable training, it added, will strengthen community security and support Kuwait’s goals of sustainable development and a knowledge-based economy. — KUNA
